Railroad Photography
I love hanging around railroads, as they give me a sense of freedom and opportunity. Sometimes I daydream of hopping on a freight train and disappearing into the vastness of America. For now however, I’ll continue to chase that dream from behind the camera. "East Glacier Bound" ~ I waited and waited as the winds picked up and a snow squall blew through. Finally the Burlington Northern & Santa Fe engine rumbled her way through the East Glacier station. (East Glacier, Montana)
"Bozeman Pass" ~ A blaring horn could be heard in the distance. Reverberations in the tunnel would echo the sounds of a train rumbling down the tracks. Finally engine #7971 would make her appearance. The old. Bozeman pass tunnel closed in 1945 looks on from above. (Bozeman, Montana)
"Sunset on the Rails" ~ Every time I drive to Helena, there's a big open space that looks out to the west. The sun recedes behind the mountains, as freight trains rise from the countryside. (Helena, Montana)
"Under A Sunset Dye" ~ Freight train a wanderin', underneath a sunset dye, I hear her engine hummin', from a distance through the sky. Take me on your venture, show me where you go, you ride is my thirst quencher, for life is just a show. (Livingston, Montana)

"Gypsy" ~ There's something romantic and primitive about a freight train. The thought of seeing the country from an open boxcar is very alluring, but even I have my. limits. I think! (Overton, Nevada)

"Gordon Creek Trestle" ~The Gordon Creek train trestle was built between 1912 and 1914 as part of the Utah Railway Company's main line that connected the towns of Hiawatha and Mohrland to Martin, Utah. It caught fire in 2005 due to arson, and now sits abandoned. (Carbon County, Utah)
